10 Mile VMA Championship 2026
What a day! The 10 mile event was organised by the Knox Masters. The venue catered for the 10 mile State Championship as well as the fourth round for this years Browne Shield series. Knox volunteers were well prepared to receive a high number of participants. The course was the same as last year. We started at the car park, doing two full loops on the Ferntree Gully bike track before coming back to the athletics track and the running of the last lap to before crossing the fi

VMA 10km Championship counts as the 3rd Browne Shield event
After heavy activity on social media over the past 24 hours, complaining about the rain and wind, everyone arriving at Braeside Park this morning was relieved that the place looked in good condition and mercifully the rain held off. Thanks to the general inclusion that VMA promotes to its members, a new record was reached on participation numbers. This was only possible by using two start times. Many new runners enjoyed the atmosphere during the day, especially the help membe

VMA 10,000m track championship 2026 at Casey Cardinia Masters
Today was one of the club’s highlights, holding the Victorian Masters 10,000m track championship and 2nd round of the 2026 Browne Shield series. An early start was on the agenda to setup everything, especially the timing device. All VMA members were looking forward to the improved way of time taking as it meant everyone could come without the need of a lap scorer. The weather forecast for the day was promising. The overnight rain had stopped and for a change, there was no win

VMA Cross Country 2026 Championships
Today was the start to the 2026 VMA Browne Shield series which consistists of five events in total. The weather, cool and no wind, were perfect conditions for a good Sunday morning run. A mostly flat to gently sloping course on uneven grass was at times challenging for the runners. Thankfully a timing system was used which of course meant that no lap scorers were required. The event consisted of two distances. 6km for runners 70 years and over, and 8km for everyone 69 years

Parkrun report March April 2026 by Michelle Mullins
With May quickly rolling our way we have reviews of our Masters clan doing what we do best - rocking up at parkrun to show the masses how teamwork comes together. This year we have charged things up, not only to volunteer, but to attend some popular parkruns to run and walk with our Masters along their side their community. March saw us attend Belvedere parkrun in Seaford. And it just so happened to be their pacer day. However, a few Masters had already organised their person

2026 Parkrun update by Michelle Mullins
It's been a while since we've had a Masters parkrun review - you know, summer months, school holidays, Masters Track events, training and family schedules 🤗 But..... we're back on track now and we'll start with our January parkrun takeover which happened to be at the lovely Frog Hollow. A gorgeous course that sways around wetlands with bridges and paths wide enough to accommodate larger numbers. It was a good thing really as we added about 20 extra to their usual crowd. All

Volunteering No 12: Berwick Springs Parkrun
What a year it was for our club. Today, we achieved one of our milestones, volunteering a parkrun on the last Saturday of each month. There are two goals by doing this. First to give the regular volunteers the opportunity to run or walk there own parkrun. Second, to have a place where all club members can come together. Parkrun is suitable for everyone, slow fast and anything between. Tailwalkers ensure nobody gets lost. Very often they try to guess how far they can go before

What a sizzle
Last Friday morning a slight panic attack caught our team organising the Bunnings sausage sizzle. We were informed at short notice that we only had to 10:00 am to update some information to ensure the operation would go ahead. Otherwise we might have had to eat the 40kg of sausages at the club after our Monday training by ourselves. Phew, that was a close call. 😉 Thanks to Jen & Mesh for sorting out this little hiccup and we got the call at 11:00am that it was full steam ah
