This year's Andy Salter team releay was a big success for the Springvale Masters. Not at the usual place in Springvale, Knox was helping to host this year's event. Teams of four in the running event and three in the team for the walking event did compete on a perfect evening. Casey managed to have teams in each event. An improvement to events in the past where the first walker in the walking team did then support the running team as a as last runner. The challenge team had to give their best and run as fast as they could to have a chance to win. and they did, it first place for Mesh, Martin, Andrew and Laur followed by Paul, Andrew, Donny and Jade in second place and Knox in third place. Interesting to follow was the fun team event, where each team had to nominate their estimated time. The rules of a combined age of 175 years and at least one female did not apply to the fun teams. In the fun team competition the winner is the team coming closest to their estimated time. Here was the surprise with our all girls team from Casey (Eftalia, Tracey, arolyn and Toni) winning. You can imagine Eftalia's reaction after their team was announced the winner. A first place was also awarded to our walking team with Jen, Arlene and Veronic. In the individual results, Shane from Knox was the winner with a time of 8 min 36 sec for the 3 km. Jade from Casey was the overall fastest girl. Congratulations to all competitors be they runners or & walkers. A big Thank you to Mark Clarence who came along to help our team.
