Victorian Masters 30+ Teams Winter Challenge was a new opportunity for the club to showcase what everyone is capable of. Doncaster did a brilliant job in organising the event. The event had a new structure this year to make it more interesting for all venues. There were team A, the original challenge between Doncaster & Glen Eira, and the team B for all other venues to compete. After four rounds of Browne Shield, which is mainly middle & long distance, our sprinters and walkers had the opportunity to show theirs talent. Everyone enjoyed a warm and sunny Melbourne winter's day made on the track. Our members, whenever they could, started in multiple events, as everyone was allowed to have up to three starts. Drinks & food was supplied by the club, and a focal point during the breaks. The event, as every major sporting event concluded with the relays.
Everyone gave its best, and outstanding results were achieved including and many had personal best. David Smyth in 1500m walk and Mesh in 3000m run achieved venue records, well done.
